The Full Story
Reviving the Past
Peatlands are a foundation of the world's ecosystem, absorbing more carbon than all the world's oceans combined, they are pivotal to the health of our planet. They are however in a critical state having been harvested for peat over the years. With a greater understanding of their role, work is under way to reverse this effect. 'Reviving the Past' aims to show people the beauty and importance of these seamingly blank landscapes.
Mission
The film is here to engage people with peatlands and see how amazing they are not just as a landscape but how incredible they are up close.
Vision
The idea for this film began of the success of the BBC Green Planet Documentary. The power of showing people the ordinary in an extraordinary manner should not be underestimated. Peatlands are something that people should be aware of and want to preserve and showing them peat bogs in a new way is a great stepping stone.
